Owner of the chic local label Maluba, Marlon Rae first found interest in fashion designing while interning at the Design Cafe in his teen years. Gaining interest from that step, right after his A-levels, he went on to study at Selak Institute and upon competition joined the Brandix College of Clothing Technology to study Pattern Making and Fashion Development.
Maluba is a tropical island clothing brand with a twist of modernity. When creating Maluba, Marlon regarded what the country already had to offer in terms of leisurewear. Maluba deals in 75% cotton-based fabrics with the rest being synthetics. The cuts are easy flowing and the details come in the way of embellishments. Marlon excels in technical development of garments and he says that is where his absolute skills and passion lies.
